Command said on Monday, that 33 suspects have been arrested in connection with jungle justice. The state Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni said security forces would not hesitate to arrest, prosecute anyone who wants to turn the state into Banana Republic. According to him, there was no justification for residents to mete out any form of punishment on any suspect without recourse to the rule of law. The Federal Government has confirmed that it is in talks with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), after it embarked on an indefinite strike. ASUU commenced an indefinite strike action across the nation beginning Sunday, August 13 The Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Chinenye Ihuoma, told newsmen that negotiations were ongoing between it and the union on the issues arising from the 2009 agreement and the MoU of 2013. “If it is on ASUU, just know that the FG/ASUU renegotiation 2009 is ongoing with the government team under the leadership of Dr. B. A popular musician, Charles Oputa, popularly called Charly Boy, who has been leading a campaign for the return or resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, has been attacked. Charly Boy was attacked in Wuse Market by angry protesters who are believed to be supporters of the president, witnesses told PREMIUM TIMES. The musician and his fellow campaigners were last week attacked by security officials who dispersed them violently from the Unity fountain, also in Abuja. “Charley Boy came to this market with some cameramen doing his protest here.
